[TechAssist] Re: Zenith A32B43W delay line

Thanks Damon
The reason that I ask was that the scan lines seemed more pronounced
than they aught to. The set came in with the burned tuning caps in the HV
section. After I got the set on and was watching it for a while the scan lines
appeared more noticeable. I know that this is normal with bigger sets. The
picture wasn't stretched. I was going to try adjusting but couldn't get into
the menu. I delivered it today,so it doesn't matter now. The customer is happy.
That's the bottom line I guess.

No, it affects the edge of [dark to light] transitions in the video....it
horizontally "squeezes" [light to dark] together.
The end result is that the picture appears sharper, but not too much. It's
used on large Direct View TVs to overcome the "largeness" of the TV.....NTSC
signals weren't really designed for TVs over 25 inches...that's why HDTV was
designed for PTVs.
Engineers always seem to come up with probable solutions to impossible
problems.
