Don,  Why not put in a rebuilt module, $89.95 outright at Tri-State 
Module ($69.95 exchange) for the
9-1671, working on that monster to component level in the home is crazy, 
and it will be an inexpensive
fix for your old customer,   Tri-State Module 800-203-7484,  Good Luck,
