[TechAssist] Re: Windows 2000 pro problem

Howdy...

I am not saying this, but rather you may need to consider several other
factors before you decide which method to use, as there may be a few
"gotchas" that you are unaware of.

For example, the GUID is composed of the serial number of 10 different items
in the computer, thereby linking the installation of Windows 2000 to the
specific computer. This GUID, along with other pieces of data, are then
transmitted to Microsoft when you visit the Microsoft Windows Update site.

Now this is not the only thing, but you can see that this could have a
domino effect on the system whereby it could destabilize the system.

Are you saying don't just "Ghost" your system if you have Windows 2000?
Most of us have no idea what you are saying here. On the TV repair
lists and various computer help forums I have read a lot of reports of
using Ghost and other imaging software successfully and almost no talk
relating to your discussion (below).
