Hugh,
The advantage to Free lists, is that we have an archive of all emails. I've 
gone there before to search
for problems, before posting to the list...
Of if I run into something and I remember seeing the post on Tech Assist, I 
know to go to the archive.
Of course, the disadvantage is, anyone can see the archives.

I think WinStips and Techassist are the best things we TV guys and gals have
in this business.  My only complaint with techassist
is that it not closed to the public.  I for one would gladly pay more for a
secure (closed) site.
