if I remember it is diode D-801 left of the heat sink of the regulator.

I will use the 100W light bulb in place of the main fuse
as I power it up and look for bad convergence (or no
power with the conv yoke hooked up).  

Almost forgot that some direct view TV's have a
convergence yoke!  Have you seen this on Panasonics?
