Kevin;
I would presume that if the picture is bright enough without over driving
the tube it should work. Although I believe Yoke impedance is going to be
different. If it doesn't put excessive demands on your Horizontal Output,
you might get away with it. I would suggest to let it run for a day with the
cover on. Also keep an eye on the Regulator for heat. Certainly not a
recommended way of solving problems, but...nothing ventured nothing
gained..;-)
