[TechAssist] Re: Uploading 10 meg scans to the group archives?

When saving a jpg format image, try compressing the image on save. This
will take a 6 meg sized file (schematic diagram) and bring it down to
maybe somewhere around 800k without too much noticable degradation (when
scanned at 300 dpi, 256 shades greyscale and compression ratio of
approx. 65%). I'm not sure what all programs out there are capable of
compressing JPGs. I use Corel Photopaint 8 for all my graphic work.
Photoshop will do it, and I imagine Paint Shop Pro will do it too. Not
sure about others.
