Hand labor does a poor quality job. Automation is a necessity. They might not have the latest generation of equipment but they continue upgrading and the quality improves. They get a lot of modern equipment from their non-domestic partners. For example Kemet shipped modern equipment from one of their Mexican plants to their new plant in China. Also they buy a lot of modern equipment for 5 or 10 cents on the dollar from the production facilities in the U.S. and Europe that have closed.
