Problem was improper timing alignment. I received a private email with
alignment procedure. I had forgotten that alignment was done in half load
position and was trying to do it from eject position.

This unit belonged to an elderly customer with technophobia.  She was
extremely appreciative for the repair so it was definitely worth the effort.
