Ben,

I don't have anything on that model, but that is a common problem on
large Sony's.  There is a black choke about the size of your thumb that
fails and a transistor nearby (on a heat sink, I think) that is leaky. 
The choke may be L501, the transistor Q505 (2SD3298).

If you still need the service manual, try Fulton, 1-800-248-0898.
