Yes, thank you Ty.  I downloaded the SM already.  Too bad there weren't
some diagnostic tips in there like the other Sony SM's.  I guess as they
get more common tips will be available.

This Sony flat panel came in with picture that looked like a generic
flag:  2 thick black stripes (up and down) on either side of a white
middle.  As I connected and disconnected the computer, the image kept
changing.  When I replaced the 15 pin connecter from the monitor to the
computer with my cable to test the customer's cable, the monitor started
working.  I put the customer's cable back on and it is still working.
Now when I whack the monitor the picture flashes but is working steady
now.  Obviously there are bad connections, but where might I find them?
I know these are hard to work on so I would like to know what I'm
getting into before I tear it apart.  Thanks.
