Ken,
If your B+ is down to 100v, check/replace C603(0.1µf/50v film), C610.
If these are shorted, will allow more than 50v across them.

Techs,

This set has me crying "Uncle."  Found F602, 2.5A fuse blown, Q601 & Q602
shorted.  Replaced those along with C650 (330@16v), high ESR.  R647,
D622, C613 & Q613 check good.  Applied power.  After 10-15 seconds, pix
pulls in on all sides (I think??).  Turned set off.  Regulators were very
warm.

Rechecked components in area.  Still found nothing amiss, but replaced
Q613 for good measure (2SC4274).  Reapplied power.  Good pix.  Phone
rings.  Turn head.  POW!  Back to square one.

Have done many of this sets without a hitch.  The transistors I use are
Sony originals, carefully checked before installation and again after the
first trial.  Resoldered the driver transformer for grins.  This set does
not use the VCR's common to fail on other models.

Any suggestions appreciated,
