Do what I do....I pull the chassis. Take a 6 pack of colored permanent markers. Red, black, blue, green, yellow, orange..... Black marker - IHVT connections one, two, three stripes indicates which Anode wire goes to which socket--works in properly installing original wire to original socket (especially important to remember on Mits and Hitachi projos) Red marker for Signal board connectors Green marker for Power board connectors Red/ Green/ Blue for Yoke and Conv Yoke connections Use yellow and orange for those connectors that have the same size/fit and have been already marked with other colors---you can double stripe one or just use these odd ball colors originally..... Marking takes some time, but saves time since you'll be connecting/disconnecting several times...... Now you're ready to pull the Chassis and CRT Assy. Concentrate on disconnecting the Anodes, CRT wiring (or pull the RGB Crt board WITH the chassis if it's easier--just gotta disconnect the Crt's ground strap) and the focus/screen control. Then disconnect the yokes and the Conv yokes. Disconnect the Front Panel Control Connections, Speakers, and any Front A/V connections---the Chassis should come out at this time.....Get the Front Panel Controls >>>AND<<< the REMOTE!! Put it in your vehicle...Prepare for the CRT PULL. Make sure you have a Quilt/Blanket to wrap the CRT ASSY in.... You can mark the position of where the CRT Assy is before pulling, but the screw holes seem to make it self-aligning on this model Normally 4 screws hold it in place.....remove them from the back and the Crt should slide right out.....OBVIOUSLY PROTECT THE CRT NECKS!! I mentally visualize the anticipated removal before doing it....I generally slide it towards me as far as I can get it. Then I attempt to pull and lift the weight so it doesn't drop like a lead balloon (it's mostly mental prep) and get it outside of the TV....Meanwhile, I'm also getting ready to ROTATE the CRT Assy so it sits on the lenses with the necks pointed upwards....at that point carrying it out to the vehicle is easy.... It's scary the FIRST time...but...you do it several times with several makes/models and you gain the needed confidence.... Put the Crt Assy (neck up) in the blanket, fold it carefully, then if the Assy wants to rock, lay it down....normally it will want to rock with the Heavier portion pointed downwards....You'll get the FEEL of this too. Take it to the office.....Let the guy sleep....You have EVERYTHING to test, and the remote for UHF/Cable/Video Input testing/setup.....and all your office equipment, Strong lighting, coffee maker that you need. And nobody breathing down your neck!!
