[TechAssist] Re: Sony HK short

If you isolated the heaters and the tube still is acting up then your
tube is most likely shot.  You can try to zap the blue gun with a
charged capacitor to "dislodge" the short if possible.  I have heard
about this procedure, but have never tried it.  Perhaps other techs will
know exactly how to do it.

thats what I did,  had a heck of a bright flash and flash in the neck of
the
pic tube itself,  then shut down immediately,   the tube did not like
it,
actually groaned and made a weird sound,  I'm confused as to why I need
to
isolate the heaters from ground  when the KB to Heaters  is where the
short
is.
