[TechAssist] Re: Sony HK short

Jeff: and all
forgive my ignorance here but never had this much problems in past,
usually a focus short, anyway, with the neck board removed I can measure
130 ohms from KR to either of the H terminals ( on the tube itself ), same
with KG, so the green and red K's have 130 or so ohms between them and the
heaters. the blue ( KB) has 40 ohms, it appears to be the problem, I
tried to isolate using a donut with 5-6 wraps of red wire to H1 then 5-6 of
white wire to H2, no help, I'm not sure about the wraps around the fbt
core, thats going to be a short ? i.e.. shorting H1 to H2 by way of wire
wrapped around the fbt core ? is this right, ( I did it, and it flashed
in the neck, shut down immediately ) undid all the mess, hooked back up
like normal still have low resistance on KG pin, what if I do the
highvoltage spark from the anode lead to KG? its the one with the crud
arcing to some other pin inside ? note: when its cold the ohms are all
the same on R,G,and B, but warms up and gets 40 ohms on blue,
in summary, the problem is KB inside the tube, measured with neck board
off. doesn't the rejuvenator just blow high voltage to what ever pin is
shorted in an attempt to blast the carbon build up or crud out of the way ?
 thanks again
brock
