From Tech Repair CD:
Sony,CCDTRV40,CC,eject button would only work when the CC was turned off or in
camera mode. In VCR mode
the eject button would not work and only the pause button would light up.,The
only button that worked when
pressed was the pause button and it would make the tape play only,,Repair bad
connections on SM components
inside the control panel/lid.,,,,,,,,,

Hi guys,
This unit quits playing after about 2 seconds.
C31 23 flashes in the top right of the EVF.(no idea what it means)
While running,the tape counter changes so
I don't know if this means that the reel sensors are working or not.
Also, when ejecting, I have to try a half a dozen times before it will fully
eject.
Both reels seem to be okay.The capstan motor turns freely(by hand)
Nothing seems to be binding.
Any ideas?
