[TechAssist] Re: Sony 1K Mod-anyone?

At one time the placing the color CRT face down was not recommended due to
the chance of the debris getting lodged in the shadow mask (direct view)
causing missing pixels or black spots in the raster. The rebuilders use to
check duds for this before issuing credit because they would have to label
any CRT coming off the line with black spots as seconds. I used to tap on
the neck when restoring to help dislodge the debris from shorted elements
allowing it to fall in the neck area (normal position) and with handling to
the bottom of the bell. So my question is who is recommending this
procedure? Just wondering.
