Dan,
I am a 1 man shop. For 20yrs, I have been using a Wesco ESPL-60-2424,
Stacker Lift, 4 wheel(1 end locking) with a 24"x24" platform, 1000lb
capacity. When lowered all the way down, the platform top is 5 1/4" from the
floor.
I covered the steel platform with carpet and cut off the safety grate from
the back side(to allow viewing with mirror). I also have a 24x36" piece of
plywood that I sometimes clamp to the platform for added space.
When table model sets, or consoles without wheels are brought in, they are
placed on 4 wheel dollys, that are made from 24x24" or 24x36", 3/4" plywood.
I actually service the set while it is on the Lift. Being a one man shop,
this is my primary work bench. It is highly mobile, up/down/left/right,
whatever. If I had another person working in the shop, I would purchase
another Stacker Lift.
