Brock,
That zener looks like a silicon diode...near the HOT...Check it in case you get
the thing fired up...
From Tech Repair CD:

D601*D602*D603*D604(1S1887)\\\\\\\\
Sanyo \DS31590\DEAD-lightning\\\\Repaired primary side*Q601*Q604*Q605 all
shorted-also had caps C609 blown
apart and C626 bulged like a baloon\Replaced IC601even though it checked
ok.\Found Q695 leaking. Q695

Thanks Jeff:
the fuse on this set doesn't blow,, well, after replacing the shorted
transistors it stays in tact, I'll check the zener if I can find it, I get
a start up surge when I plug in the set, but no click or any other
function, almost acts like eprom or missing input information somewhere
except that my standby voltages are missing, transformer is ok, I hate to
short the relay but need some voltages to go much farther without a print.
