The parts store or formerly parts solver was listing the R017000041 (magtag)
as the replacment for the 048 going by part numbers as avalible under maytag
although under amana they listed as NLA.

Just found out this assembly, R0170048 or R0170041, consists of three
components, an accumulator, a heat exchanger, and an evaporator. Both, the
accumulator and heat exchanger are fine. It is the evaporator that is
defective and has its own part number, 1019010. This is NLA, but hopefully
someone has one on their shelf.

Thanks for your help.

Make:

Amana (made by Maytag and I believe may be similar to many other models
Maytag makes)

>Model:

SZD20NL

Part Needed &
Number: Asy., Low side
thin wall evap. Part # R0170048 possible substitute number is R0170041

My own Amana refrigerator has quit. I do not repair these so I called my
colleague who repairs appliances. He has found the evaporator assembly
defective and has agreed to change it if I can find the No Longer Available
part.

Anyone who repairs appliances have one of these or knows where I may locate
one? This refrigerator has custom wood paneling on the front and I would
sure like to salvage it. Even a generic or used part would be acceptable.

Thanks.
