Tony, might check C102, IC302, R107, & maybe Q106,
D112, D113, D114. Mode switch could need alignment.

thanks to everyone for the response to this...the problem is
not that it
won't record, the problem is if she puts a tape in and tries
to program for
recording it shuts off but with no tape in she can program no
problem ..she
has proven to me she knows exactly how to do programming and
I have checked
it for the safety tab and everything else that has been
mentioned here and
