Thanks for the tip, i recorded on that machine for over 5 hours, different
times. I asked the customer what kind of tapes he was using, and he said he
was using the same tapes over and over, just recording over them. So then i
asked if he had a separate rewinder. He did, so i figured his rewinder was
rewinding the tapes too tight. Does this make sense? I have seen it
before, and during the recording, the tape drags... and therefore the
machine powers off. Does that sound like a logical theory. Neverless the
customer wasn't happy, he is one of those that thinks his way is perfect, my
theory was just only a suggestion to him, maybe to buy some new tapes, and
try it then.. Let me know what you think,
David

David,
I had one with the same symptoms, a couple of months ago, but don't know if
it was your model #. The problem with it was the capstan motor needed to
have all the old lubrication removed and relubricated. If I remember right
it was making a noise in rewind also.
Good luck!
