Al,

That makes a lot of sense. I bet the mechanical vibrations from the
increased volume cause the intermittent point to make contact. Makes you
think it might be something else though, I'm sure your right though, thanks
for the tip Al.

Check for bad solder joints on the audio board where it joins the main
board. Seen it three times.
