[TechAssist] Re: RCA PTV Mirror

Some paper towels (bounty and others) seem to have fabric softener on
them,
they leave a smear that you keep trying to clean off but it just shows up in
a different place. I will try the viva.
I use the cheep $1., 8oz spray bottles 1 cup clean tap water 1/4
teaspoon
clear dish detergent and for cigarette smoke 1 or 2table spoon "lab grade
alcohol". Been using this everyday for years on Mylar and front surface
mirrors and screens. although most paper towels will scratch Mylar, JVC
used to have a very soft micro fiber lens cloth that is washable and will
last a long time if you don't lose it. Last time we ordered some only
received one and will try again. sorry I don't know the part # will try to
get it tomorrow at work. I've cleaned and repaired thousands big screens
over the years and I clean all completed repairs out of manu wty, I've seen
Mylar in several brands with different types of mountings and backings and
glass mirrors, never seen "rough or "acrylic" mirrors.

And don't used fabric softener or those dryer sheets. They
will leave smears on a guitar, so it's hard to tell what they
would do to one of those mirrors.
