Does anyone have a diagram for this unit? It is a stand alone subwoofer RCA
used to sell to connect to a surround or a sub out on the early Home Theater
televisions. It is the large ported box with a internal 200 watt amp.
Originally it wouldn't go into standby when it didn't have signal and it would
moan or thump every now and then. But it did work when a signal was applied,
however the customer complained that after it ran a while it would shutdown. I
played it for 3 hours shaking the rivets off of the building and it never shut
down, so I opened the amp and saw that something was poured in it. I cleaned
the input board and one of the power transistors looked like it was leaking
through some corrosion from collector to ground. Let dry and now it doesn't
matter if I have signal or not it goes to standby and even if it isn't in
standby it doesn't amplify anything.
Really could use a diagram or if anyone ever saw one of these and could give me
some common causes.
Thanks in advance
Jason
