[TechAssist] Re: RCA F27242GY CTC185AB fuse&HOT

Larry,
There is no adequate cross replacements for the BUH517D. The BUH517 crosses to
an NTE2637
but will run extremely hot in the ctc185AB chassis. On a try-it-out basis you
could use a
NTE2637 but don't let it go out the door that way.
I saw Walter's post and I echo his advice. There are too many common failures
in the SMPS
that could trip you up on that repair. For example the regulator circuit that
recommends a
kit p/n#231523 replacement for that particular chassis.
Hope this helps.

Hi Guys, I have this 185AB chassis on the bench, AC
fuse blown, HOT shorted, customer doesn`t want to spend
much on the set so I want to put in a HOT & fuse and
bring it up slow on the variac to see if the fly or anything else is gone, if
so the cust.
wants to get a new set, my
problem is I don`t have a BUH517D and can find no cross
in NTE/ECG, anyone know what I can try just as a test?
Thanks in advance, Larry E
