I believe the swabs he is looking for are an Aiwa part number for cleaning
CD lenses and are available from Tritronics.
As for cleaning VCR heads, the best thing that I have found is a synthetic
chamois. I cut it into small pieces and just throw them in the wash when
they get dirty. After a couple of washes they actually work better.
Natural chamois leaves little bits sometimes. For cleaning fluid I use
denatured alcohol or for really clogged heads a little shot of Electroclean.
