Hi fellow techs,
Does anyone still fix monitors ? I've got one here that has a black
picture--if I turn up the screen control I get a very dim picture. Screen
voltage is about 150 volts--should be 300-400 volts at least! Every voltage is
fine (including the high voltage)except for a 30 volt line off the flyback
which reads only 24 volts.
Discovered that OSD was also malfunctioning, the horizontal width control
adjusts the vertical height, and the vertical height control adjusts the
horizontal width. The brightness and contrast controls are also reversed--and
the contrast does not adjust anything! The contrast control (actually the
brightness) does adjust G1. It almost sounds as if the microprocessor is
faulty, and the monitor has gone into some kind of shutdown.
