Hi members,
I repaired this TV about 1 year and 10 months ago for the same problem.
I am including my fix from that date, below this message.
My question is: Do I have to buy a whole new micro-p kit again, just to get
an EPROM ? How do you guys usually go about fixing this problem ? I don't
have a chipper checker to reset it with.
Also,...the gray scale is too red. Can anyone tell me which parameters are
used to adjust the gary scale ? I don't have any literature on this set.

Any help appreciated,
LLW

Replaced EEprom. Used the EEprom from kit # 212120, because EEprom # 229780
is NOT available by its self. Copied parameters on a sheet of paper,
installed an 8-pin IC socket, entered the parameters onto the new EEprom.
Did NOT need "chipper checker". This set was fixed for the same problem 3
years ago by another shop. Decided to install the IC socket, because the
trace was on its last leg.

Only ONE complaint: Why does the manufacturer make us buy a kit with a
micro-Proc. included for $23,.....when most of the time, all we need is the
EEprom that usually costs $3.95 ? Now I have a micro-proc. in stock that I
may never need. Seems to me they should make the EEprom available
seperately.
