nothing more than a battery charger, made a little better, cleaner dc, most have a fuse on the 120 line, and one inside the step down transformer itself, if there's ac coming out of the big transformer, check the bridge, then regulator, most just get bad solder around the big bias resistors from running for ever, or the big transformer opens, as always if its mounted on a heat sink, expect it to get hot, first place I'd check, its good money around here in the camp ground area, I take a regular old battery charger out to replace the unit, the big 40 amp roller type,, almost all campers run all there lights on 12 volts, this converter is to turn 110 ac into 12volts, and thats all.
