Larry, before you replace the IC, check for low ohm resistors, if they are the least bit over (ie a 2.2 ohm reading 3.6) will cause strange problems. I know that many of us will usually ignore a difference in a reading of 1 or 2 ohms but in the case of low ohm resistors on a conv. Board 1 or 2 ohms may be an increase of more than 100%. Check for bad joints on IC and low capacitance caps too. Pioneer used to have problems with them in conv board at one time.
