Yes, the loud hissing is coming from flyback.  Unfortunately the set is
in a very bright room and is a 15 minute drive away.  I may have to
reinstall the main board and darken the windows somehow and look for a
mild arc.  Thanks.

Is the hissing coming from the flyback? Turn off the lights in the Room
and
see if you locate a mild arc somewhere?

How can I be sure that it is the flyback?  I have had similar noises
coming from the flyback and it was caused by other components.  Thanks.

Hopefully I'm wrong, but I suspect the flyback. I come
across this problem whenever I fail to get the hv
lines seated in those RCA splitters. Leaking hv in the
flyback would do the same thing.=20
