I am still assisting another tech on this 1997 year 60 inch pro-jo..
originally was thought to have been tagged with lightning (assumed).
Replaced a SMPS (IC 405, #483520988561, opto-iso) because heating it
caused shut down.
Now it stays on, but absolutely NO horizontal sync. The picture slowely
floats to the right, slows and eventually floats the other way. (I
assume the horiz. oscillator is "free running").
Good vertical sync.
Interestingly, the OSD menu charactors are perfect, with good sync.
Replaced the "jungle" chip (TA8845AN) with no help.
Sure could use some assist.
I was given a service manual in PDF that I forwarded to the tech.
Any suggestions would really help.
