Subject: [TechAssist] Pansonic plasma TH-42PD25..Exiting service menu..

Hi everyone! ?Happy New Year!!!!

I'm in a real fix this morning with few options.. I ran on this call to re=
pair a formatting problem with this Panasonic plasma unit. The unit was go=
ing out of horizontal sync on "regular" broadcasts but worked perfectly on =
HDTV signals. Well- my district rep shipped me a "jig" to flash the eepro=
m and reset the unit. EZ repair which worked perfectly BUT after doing the=
"repair" and unplugging the set I got a surprise. The service mode change=
d to a Yellow check and I have not been able to figure out how to get out o=
f the service mode on this model. I also have not been able to re-enter th=
e factory service mode to retry anything.. The display goes away after 1.5=
minutes and only returns when switching between HDTV and regular broadcast=
s. I "thought" holding down the "R tune" button on the remote would exit t=
he service menu but no luck. There is no one at the office today to call t=
o check the service manual so I would really appreciate an answer if anyone=
knows. At least I can check my email (valleytv@xxxxxxx) while traveling!

TIA!!!!
