Thanks to Paul I have the manual for this now.

Have checked and /or subbed all parts in primary side of PS. Opened all 
loads in secondary.
Only thing showing not normal is waveform on pin 5 of STR, should be 
3.2Vpp and is less than 1Vpp.
STR runs hot and shuts off at 85- 90 deg C both with orignal and new STR
either set on or stby.

Cooled the STR with freeze and kept set on for about 10 min and the 
switching transformer gets real hot, about 80 deg C after 10 min.

Possible bad transformer?  If so will make too expensive to repair.
