Thanks Jim. I have the panasonic schematic for the
CT-27G5B that you quoted. This manual May be
similar electronically, but does not look similar.
The tuner is completely different, and the two big
chips are missing from the top of the chassis.
There are two SMD chips on the bottom.
The eeprom set up is also like the Toshiba sets,
but I don't know where the 5 volts to feed the pull
up resistors comes from. I know that it could be
pulled down by about anything. I had a rca that the
glue under some smd caps had gone conductive
causing loss of data voltage.
At least, now I know that the 5vdc is supposed to
be on pins 5&6, like I suspected.
The being  intermittent part still bothers me
though.
