[TA-A] Re: Pan AG-1960 Power Supply

Hi James,

  Thanks for the note.

The problem seems to be close to the input because the input fuse is popping.
There is a 2nd fuse toward the output end of the supply, and that is not
popping. The 2nd fuse is a smaller value. We didn't find any shorted caps, but
we are going to replace several. Perhaps it is an ESR problem.

The main filtering cap appears to be a 100 uF, 250 V electrolytic. There is a
voltage regulator, STRD6004x, that looks sickly. The circuit card around its
pins appears brown -- like it was overheated.

I'll let you know what we change to bring it back to life.

  Mark

  Mark,
I just realized that this is a VCR. What is the problem? Most of these can be
fixed by changing 6 to 9 capacitors. If I am correct you will have a either
.47mf@50v or 4.7@50 and a 1mf@50v and some 100mf@10v and 330mf@xxxx or
1000mf@xxxxx These cause all kinds of problems. If it's dead tell me if you
found any shorted parts and which ones. James Daly

oes anyone have a schematic for the AG-1960 power supply? We are trying to
repair one for a customer, and the Pan people can not supply the service manual
