Larry, Thank-you! I removed the anode lead and the set fired-up. I can see the heaters glow in all the tubes. Are these splitters hard to replace? There looks like thermal paste or silicon paste on the lead I removed from the splitter. Is it necessary to re-apply this paste again? Now to source a splitter! If the set doesn`t come up, re-post and let us know what your standby voltages are at CR4116 and CR4118 (cold ground) and pin 16 (hot ground) of U4101 the switchmode IC, this will give us a better idea of what`s going on with the set, hope this helps, Larry E Larry Eastman American TV & Electronics Crystal River, Fl. 34428 ----- Original Message ----- From: "David" <mr_fixit@xxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <techassist@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, May 04, 2005 4:37 PM Subject: [TechAssist] PTK169PGA - Shutdown Problem > Hello Gentlemen, > > I haven't had the opportunity to work many of these units, in fact I > think I repaired one before and it was a simple enough problem - open > power resistor.
