Hugh,
First of all, R3485 is off the flyback and the tip you refer to states
to replace it with a jumper wire. However, I belive you will find that
the problem is most likely an open 10 ohm resistor (ref# 3340) on the
CRT board. Most of the time the resistor is open because it was
underrated (they used a 1/3 watt resistor). Install a 10 ohm, 1/2 watt
resistor to replace it.
