How about Cannex pays that initial cost, if they want you to do it bad enough? You have to make a decent profit or it's not worth doing. I don't know how large this Canex place is, but in a one man shop it will take a long time to recover that kind of outlay for just one brand, if ever. Mine's a one man shop too, and that's probably the reason I don't do any warranty. They expect you to buy expensive software and service lit. like theirs is the only brand you are going to have to invest in. One big problem I have with doing warranty work is that you get to be the first explorer in a new land, which is not at all cost effective. On top of that, they expect you do it for less than you would charge a customer for doing well known (easy) repairs. And they are always looking for a way to minimize their cost which means maximizing your cost. In other words: cheating you out of money that you deserve in every way they can.
