I use generics from Tritronics all the time for these (STRM6811) and have
not had any problems.  We fix the Hitachis for this very often, but
curiously, even though we sell lots of Mitsubishi (and no Hitachi) I have
only had a couple of Mitsubishi sets with this problem over the years.  I
wonder why.  May be that we install good surge suppression on most of the
sets we sell, but I would think the rates of failure would be similar.  Has
anyone else noted a difference?
