Thanks guys for the response.  A special thanks goes to Jeff at Shoreline 
Electronics for the tip for IC900 (STRM6811).  I had gone over this chassis 
using heat and freeze spray but missed this one.  It was well hidden under the 
heatsink fins and covered up by two large elecrolytics (couldn't be seen unless 
you knew where to look).  With the brightness at a minimum, the set would play 
for hours but as soon as I heated IC900 the set went into shutdown.  New IC is 
on order.
