The set comes with both caps installed from factory.
And if they don't there is a service bulletin or something
similar which says you should piggy back the 22mf with
an extra 47mf. That's therefore ok so far, but I usually
found one of them bad...
You will certainly found lots of bad caps all over, you'd
better check ALL THE BOARDS for bad caps (either dry
and leaky ones) and bad joints, otherwise you are
risking future problems. For instance, you will always
find a bunch of bad ones in the convergence board
along with damaged circuit board's traces, etc etc.
Near the vertical IC there is a 12v zener that frequently
goes leaky, and of course try not to miss any bad
caps around, beginning by the 100mf ones and put
a new LA7838 to prevent future headaches.
Special care around the onboard PIP, the bad caps there
are responsible for a number of wierd problems like rolling picture, etc.
Even the audio section has to be taken care of if you do not want
the set to bounce...
HTH buena suerte, saludos
Jorge
