Peggs, I do quite a few of these and I do not move the yokes at all so I do not have to do the geometry and convergence alignments afterwards. I take a pair of needlenose and break off those little "ears" or tabs that are part of the plastic housing on the yoke adjacent to that small board. You shold only need to resolder the pins of the connector that the yoke leads actually plug into. I find it easier to do this from the rear of the set as those pins of the connector are hard to access from the front. Give it a shot!
