[TechAssist] Re: Mitsubishi CS27303 Quest !

IC201, IC3A1 (LA7953), & Q780 usually is what fails due to
storm damage. Also check DL202, Q204

Subject: [TechAssist] Mitsubishi CS27303 Quest !

Make : Mitsubishi
Model : CS27303
Problem : Came in dead from a lighting hit

Initially found relay driver transistor Q901 ( C1740 ) shorted.
Unit now
turns on but video is way out of sync & audio is very low and
staticky.

OSD's are OK , what's interesting is when we press the INPUT
button ,
instead of the OSD displaying INPUT on the screen , it displays
00033
instead. Something corrupted?!

I suspect either the LA series Jungle chip or the proprietary
Mitsu micro IC
has but the big one.......Has anyone had similar failure when
this model
takes a surge?

PIP module has been bypassed for now.
