[TechAssist] Re: Mitsubishi CS-2720R low brightness, sides pulled in, C960,C957bad

Phil,
STR 3030 and STR 3130 both cross to NTE 1742 but STR 30130 crosses to
NTE 1777. If you need a STR3130 let me know.

Phil,
Sure!! You'll simply be running 135v instead of 130 on your B+ which
shouldn't harm anything for a quick verification. I wouldn't run it a
long time, but for test purposes it should work just fine. The STRD3030
also subs to an NTE1777 and the STR30130 will work as a permanent sub.

I happen to have some STRD3035 ICs in stock (same package). Would these
do as a temporary test for troubleshooting? In past diagnostics, I've
subbed STR30135 for 30130's, etc. It was off by 5 volts and did no harm,
but verified if the device was bad or not. Phil Bader

Phil,
If C960 was bad and didn't correct the problem also replace the
regulator IC951, Strd3030, which is most likely leaking and check R954
for open or changed in value, (120ohm/30w). It's between IC951 and C957.
If that corrects the sides from pulling in but not the brightness check
D210 off pin 8 of the FB for shorted.
Hope this helps

Thanks, but C460 is a 100mfd@35volts in the Vertical, and is fine. This
seems to be a horiz. deflection or PS issue. I was also told to check
C516 (no value given)but I can't locate that. Thanks anyway.

Replaced both no change.
Nothing in archives I see.
