Boy I wish I had one of the video Ic's in my boss's truck to verify this.
There were a series of Mitsubishi TV's that had defective video IC's that
would cause a snowy picture or a picture that gradually went dark and left
only color and sync loss. That sounds like yours, but I don't have enough
info to say without a doubt that's your problem.
However it has been my experience that if it isn't the PIP which you don't
have that the video Ic is the second choice. Throw some heat or freeze on
the IC and see what happens. Also, you may want to report the Video Ic's
number on the body, that might just help me to remember if it's the one.
