The only thing I can think of would be stacking diodes, used to increase
voltage on magnetron. The only reason that it might be across the cap would
be if cap case and 1 leg were common and therefore ground. If you measure
any leakage in these diodes , change them. peter kowalik

David;I may be wrong but don't think these are for protection but to
increase the HV to Mag for faster cooking purposes.I did Litton Commericial
M/W some years ago & all there ''Minute Masters'' units had 2 of
everything,ie,2 Mags,2 HV xmfr,2 HV caps & diodes.These were 3000. dollar
ovens & use 220vac operation...I would check them & if one is bad,replace
both...hth....
