I looked at the manual and it appears to be a Sanyo (now are you really
confused?). 16-530 is the catalog number, the model number is 92 (more
confusion).  I would appreciate having the FCC # and the UL number for my
notes and I could then tell you exactly which mechanism you have.  You can
also go to www.radioshack.com and access the drawings and parts list (but no
gear alignment data).  Click on product manual at the top of the page.  The
drawings are not very good and like you, it has been a while since I have
worked on a VCR, but it appears to be a P88 mechanism, which can be very
difficult to align without the manual.  Let me know if I can help, John.
