Ron,
Does your set have two plugs the speaker connector can fit into? Be sure it is
inserted in the right plug.
I think this is the exact same symptom I had.

Philips/Magnavox model: HD2518 C122
Chassis:25B800-7562 Hotel ver.
Unit came in as a dead set found C506 ( 680pf 2kv) burnt,replaced with OEM.
Unit came on with no pix no sound raster only.
Removed IC346 EPROM and pix and sound returned but the AFC would hunt
every time channel changed or just at random intervals.
Replaced EPROM with OEM have same problem!
Is there a SM adjustment that I need to do and how,or do I still have a bad
part?
Don't have original remote.Thanks
